It could be a wide variety of things in a wide diverse business world.

He founded CNN-debuted covering the Gulf War.

He invented WTBS-delivery Atlanta Braves baseball nationwide

He created TNT and TMC-buying up the MGM movie inventory

He built the Cartoon Network

He bought the Atlanta Braves and won a World Series.

He purchased the Atlanta Hawks preventing the NBA from moving the team

He saved the NHL-Atlanta Thrashers though they wound up moving to Winnipeg.

He conquered the America’s Cup with Courageous.

He founded the Goodwill Games

He signed baseball’s first big free agent Andy Messersmith

He warred with Commissioner Bowie Kuhn.

His inventory of accomplishments included every facet of entertainment and business.

And then he became a leader in society.

He backed NATO.  

He supported all things United Nations.

He donated 1B to Feed the Hungry

He met with Presidents, with Putin, with Castro, with the Pope.

He married Hanoi Jane Fonda

He was a risk taker, a believer in truth, freedom and big investment.

He took on the Big 3-Networks who called his news idea  CNN-Chicken Noodle Network..

He was a visionary…rogue…a gambler…an entrepreneur…a nutcase.. a trailblazer…a swashbuckler.

He created the Superstation, became known as Captain Outrageous and the Mouth of the South.

He didn’t care about Profit-Loss Statements, but rather the next challenge.  The accomplishments did not mean much because there was always the next opportunity in life.

He was a Renaissance Man, a Media Mogul, a Dixie born Sports fan.

Maybe the most unique man in the business-entertainment-journalistic  world  we have ever seen.

Ted Turner….a man for all seasons.
