The NFL moved into the spotlight with its Thursday Night Game at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton.
The Arizona-Carolina game is nothing more than filler program, leading to the real event, the Hall of Fame induction ceremonies on Saturday in Canton.
Oh what a class. Oh what stories they will tell:
DREW BREES…The Purdue legend, drafted by the Chargers, signed by Sean Payton in new Orleans, and the rest is history. The passing records, the Super Bowl ring, and the accomplishment of a smaller than life-big heart-big throwing QB. Over (80,000Y) passing and (571TD). What a career.
LARRY FITZGERALD…Everything as an individual that his Arizona Cardinals team was not. Big rangy, tough, smart. If Jerry Rice was the prototype of greatness, then Fitzgerald was his clone (1,432-receptions) with 121-touchdowns. A gem.
ROGER CRAIG…The first ‘ultra back’ we ever saw in the NFL for the 49ers..Do everything for over a decade-a true workhorse from every dimension (13,143APY) 73 TDs catching and running the ball. The first ever to do it that way in the league.
LUKE KUECHLY…Notning sexy about the Carolina linebacker. Just all out-every time for 8-star studded years before he walked away (1,092-tackles). Superb-complete leader
ADAM VINITIERI…Everyone comes from somewhere-the record setting kicker came from South Dakota State. When he was done after the Super Bowl seasons with the Patriots and then a storied stay with the Colts, he finished with (599-FGs). Mr-Reliable
Great talent-greater people…a bunch of self made individuals too.
What a way to start the season, watching the Hall of Fame ceremonies.
