San Diego State football…’The Dark Side’.

Remember that?

That was the phrase they used to describe Aztecs football and its great defense

San Diego State football…’The Dark Side’.

A very different meaning.

The Sean Lewis led team, buried in the abyss.

Horrific offensive performances.

A caved in defense.

NCAA statistics that tell the story off the field.

Ranked #130 in passing…#134 in offense…#137 in pass defense.

All could see on the field at Oregon State last weekend, in the 66-14 hammering.

The Beavers piling up (651Y) in offense.

SDSU finishing with (147Y).  Having just 48-snaps to Oregon State’s 92 on offense.

Going (2-for-15) on 3rd and 4th downs

OSU picking up 35-first downs to 6-for SDSU.

Sean Lewis has been victim of bad blowouts prior.  At Kent State, he lost (63-10) to Penn State.  That same season his Flashes gave up 48-52-56 points in other games, his first year there.  What followed was success.

He’s in his 3rd year and SDSU is going in the wrong direction.  QB-Jayden Denegal benched after going (5-19) 78-yards.  A defense that has given up an average of (530Y) a game in the last 3-games.

And a schedule that still has Boise State, Colorado State and Fresno State ahead.

No one could have expected this program to crater under this head coach.

Don’t want to hear about a vote of confidence or contract extension talks.  Not paying attention to ‘unsocial media’ which is made up of former Aztecs-4-Life-who don’t support the program.

Don’t want any more coach speak either.  Just answers as to why this is so bad right now.

But SDSU is really on the ‘Dark Side’ of things at this hour in football.

Coach Sean Lewis-Monday Press Conference:

=========

No one looking at these results-an embarassment.

100% on me to fix this-make it right

We got what we deserved-we have to be better

Embarrassment

Lucky Sutton should play this week…Javian Kinnard played well

Everything on the table for quarterbacks situation

Rivalry game-Fresno State-means everything..throw records out

Ryan Lindley played and won in this game-he spoke to team about importance

This is just not another week

We have to get better in every phase

Erosion on defense.  Drop off production on offense

Not shock and awe-we have to do better.

We need a great response for second half of the season

Defense-miscommunication…they ran new sets we had never seen

Where are our eyes-where is our technique

Jayden Denegal..I am not in denial about this quarterback

This week will decide alotk in practice

Success is playing to the best of our ability-we have not seen that on field

It is emotional-physical-its mental

We must handle-hard better than we have

We did not give your best effort…we need their best

There is no time to rest.

I have their attention and we have to change the past few weeks

We signed up for this-we put ourselves in our position-we will make it right

This team was bothered with that bad loss..ton of investment-work-sacrifice

Fresno stood toe to toe with Boise State

They are a physical team-run the ball alot

Generate big plays

Bringing our team back from bad loss at Corvallis..assess our standards

1-on-1 talks…position by position talks

Jaylin Hawkins..elite skill level…growing and refining..dynamic play maker.
