The world celebrates Spain for its soccer excellence.

The globe condemns Argentina for the way they play and how they acted.

The World Cup continues to be front and center for lots of different reasons.

FIFA has begun a probe of what happened at the end of the Sunday Spanish win.

You know, the match where Argentina went (120 minutes) without a shot on goal.  Where they piled up 25-fouls, 2-red cards and 4-yellow cards.

And when it was over, Argentine players were involved in four different incidents of cheapshots as Spanish players celebrated.

Punches to the throat, forearms to the back of the head, a kicking incident directed at a downed player, and shoves everywhere.

All that capped off by the closing ceremony, with Spain holding the club on the stage, and Argentina’s players turning their backs, not to salute the winners.

The players refused to talk to the media, exited the stadium, and left in disgrace.

They were petty, petulant, classless.

All this after a championship game of thuggery.

They were ungracious and dishonorable.

Argentina plays a style known as the ‘Dark Art’.

They showed their ‘Dark Side’ the way they acted.

Corner kicks followed by cheapshots.

Cheers for their stars became chants of crybabies.

So what does FIFA do in response to the way Lionel Messi and his teammates ‘soiled’ 3-weeks of a soccer extravaganza, made bigger by Network TV in the USA?

Or does all the corruption allegations that surrounds Giannini Infantino, allow him to sweep this all aside too, and wait for four years for the next series of great games to take place?

For all the good we saw, the stars, the goalies, the personalities, the fans, the color, the pagentry, we now have to deal with the disdain Argentina has shown towards the Beautiful Game.  

How about a ‘Red Card’ to Argentina.
