Interesting day in Congress, aside from the White House chaos we have to live with  day in day out in the Trump era.

Congress held hearings on a bill presented by Ted Cruz, to save the NCAA.  And Congress heard from leadership people including legendary former coach Nick Saban.

The ‘Save College Sports’ Bill would give the NCAA an anti-trust exemption that would allow them to take control of all business aspects of college athletics, in this new big money era.

Saban was strong in his conviction that college athletics is out of control.  His quotes”

“This college bill would bring order to college athletics”

“The anti-trust exemption would give us a national framework to operate by”

“Right now every rule becomes a lawsuit”

“We do not want to become a Mini-NFL”

The proposed bill would involve a cross-aisle vote that many think would be approved.

What we see right now is lawlessness.  Lawsuits everywhere.  Out of control payoffs to athletes.  A transfer portal that has destroyed continuity in all sports.

That’s where we are at this hour.  Nick Saban is influential.  We shall see if he can sway the opinions of everyone to vote this Antitrust exemption into the NCAA way of doing business, to save college sports from where it is at this hour
