Some weekend we have experienced in sports.
Pick any event, and there was something to see, especially at the end.
NBA…The Lakers destroy the Houston Rockets on their own floor, winning Game 7, days after the young Rockets players mocked LeBron James and the injured Lakers team. It was a torch job from the first quarter on. LA-on to Oklahoma City.
NHL..When you did not think you could see anything to outdo the Montreal-Tampa Bay sixth game, in the playoffs, the goaltenders duel, won by Tampa in overtime 1-0, with Jakub Dobes and Andrei Vasilvesky combining for 62-saves. Then we got to game seven, and Montreal was held without a shot for 27-minutes and yet won late in the 3rd period on a corner shot that hit the Tampa goalie and bounced into the net.
KENTUCKY DERBY…Yeah everyone had that one of their Bingo Card, Golden Tempo going from ‘Last to Legend’ coming from 16th place to win the Run for the Roses on the final stretch.
MLB..The Padres nearly going 0-for-Weekend against the lowly White Sox, but winning Sunday on two infield singles and two stolen bases. A win is a win even if it came against a Chisox team that has lost 101-102-121 in the last three years.
FORMULA ONE..Miami Grand Prix in the rain, Kimo Anteonelli holds off his teammate Lando Norris in wheel to wheel racing in the final 4-laps with crashes all around them.
NASCAR…Chase Elliott-last lap run coming off a caution gets him a win in the Texas 400.
SOCCER..Oh so close, but not a win when LAFC scored in the 104th minute in extra time to tie SDFC in MLS soccer, keeping them from winning at home.
Last minute stuff, it was everywhere in Sports on Sunday-\
Excitement Squared.
